Giovanni Turchini is the Head of School for the School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Sciences (SAFES), Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne.

Giovanni’s research interests span from nutrition (animal and human) to aquaculture, food quality, lipids, fatty acid metabolism, fish oil replacement and fatty acid metabolism in cultured aquatic species, fatty acid-hormone and fatty acid-micronutrient interactions, seafood quality and traceability, and ethical issues encountered in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

Throughout his career, Giovanni has published extensively, including several book chapters and one edited book, and his work is highly cited and influential.

The Nutrition and Seafood Laboratory (NuSea.Lab) is a multidisciplinary research team hosted within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at Deakin University. We focus our research effort in the direction of nutrition-based sciences, specifically towards supporting the seafood and aquaculture sectors.
