The aim of this project is to investigate the utilisation of commercially relevant lipid sources and fatty acid ratios in Atlantic salmon held under different temperature conditions. It aims to determine how metabolic activity and requirements impact nutritional and overall wellbeing under sustained thermal stress. By identifying and testing novel aquafeed formulations and feeding strategies, this project will safeguard against welfare issues currently experienced in the Tasmanian Atlantic salmon industry, which is becoming a globally relevant case study into the future of Atlantic salmon aquaculture.
