Nesar Ahmed is a Research Fellow in Global Seafood Sustainability at Deakin University.

Previously Nesar worked at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Nesar was also a Georg Forster Fellow supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research, Germany. Nesar was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Michigan, USA.

Nesar received his PhD from the University of Stirling, UK through a DFID Scholarship and was the recipient of an Endeavour Fellowship from the Australian Government for Postdoctoral Research at Charles Darwin University, Australia. His current research focuses on aquaculture productivity, environmental sustainability, and climate change adaptability.
