Andrew Oxley is a Lecturer in Marine Microbiology in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at Deakin University.

He has broad research interests in marine microbial ecology, with a specific focus on the role the microbiome plays in the health and nutrition of farmed species.

He has worked broadly as a microbiologist nationally and internationally for over 10 years, where he has contributed to the development of novel DNA technologies for supporting both the aquaculture and fisheries industries. Most notable recent efforts have included his contribution to improving the nutritional health outcomes for supporting the Australian Yellowtail Kingfish industry as the microbiome project lead.
