Melissa Rocker is a Research Fellow in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at Deakin University.

Melissa is a marine biologist with a particular interest in marine genomics. She completed her PhD at James Cook University, in which she explored the effects of local stressors on the health and condition of inshore corals using observational, experimental, and manipulative frameworks. She has experience with genetic, biochemical, and physiological techniques and associated analyses through her PhD research and her work as a research officer and coral technician at the Australian Institute of Marine Science and molecular and forensics technical officer at Deakin University.

Melissa is currently collaborating on numerous research projects investigating terrestrially-derived aquafeed ingredients, farmed abalone health and nutrition, and farmed fish flavour enhancement.
